Two killed in Indian shelling from across LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: A man and his sister were killed and three other members of their family critically injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday night in shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC), a senior official said.
The casualties occurred in the house of a retired schoolteacher in Fatehpur village of Nezapir sector in Haveli district between 10pm and 11pm, said Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Kashif Hussain.
`A monar shell landed on the house of Shaikh Mushtaq, leaving his son and daughter dead on the spot,` he said.
The deceased were identified as Naveed, 32, and Asma, 20. The injured were Mr Mushtaq, 65, his wife Naseema Begum, 55, and their other son Ansar, 25.
Mr Hussain said the injured were taken to a health facility in Forward Kahuta, the Haveli district`s headquaners, for treatment.
According to him, Indian troops also shelled Nezapir sector earlier in the day, from 3pm to 5pm, but no casualties were reponed.
The last casualty along the LoC was reponed on Aug 21, when a 45-year-old woman was injured in Dhal Khambah village of Bhimber district.
