PPP reacts to Imran`s allegation

LAHORE: The PPP has reacted sharply to PTI chairman Imran Khan`s allegation that co-chairperson Asif Zardari was acquitted from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references under a deal.

Punjab PPP President Qamar Zaman Kaira said in a statement that Mr Zardari was acquitted by courts and didn`t need a certification [for being a clean person] from Mr Khan.

He said the PTI leader had in f act got puzzled af ter seeing large public meetings of the PPP in Punjab.

Warning Mr Khan not to cross the red line, he said the PPP would no longer remain a silent spectator if the PTI leader didn`t change his style of politics. He said now it`s turn of the PTI leader to get disqualified after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Information Secretary Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar urged Imran Khan to stop dictating the institutions and should rather face his own court cases. He recalled that the PTI chairman could not serve even eight days during Musharraf regime whereas Mr Zardari had remained imprisoned for 11 years in f abricated cases.
