LAHORE: A man and a woman were found dead under mysterious circumstances in different incidents on Sunday.
In the first incident, a man was recovered shot dead outside a mosque in the morning in Shahdara.
Police said Ali Ahmed, 21, a student, of Nain Sukh Colony went to offer Fajr prayers near Saggian Bridge. The victim, who of ten recited Azaan, did not go to the mosque and later he was found shot dead outside the mosque after the prayers.
Police collected forensic evidenceand recorded statements of eyewitnesses.
They later shifted the body to city morgue for autopsy and registered a murder case against unidentified person(s).
Investigating Officer Akhtar Ali said neither police found any empty casing from the spot nor people of the nearby houses heard any fire.
He said it might be possible that the man was shot somewhere else and his body was thrown near the mosque.
Quoting victim`s family, he said they did not have any enmity.
Further investigation is under way.
In another case, a woman was founddead in her house in Harbanspura.
Police said Saba, 28, of Shalimar Scheme, was found unconscious in the morning.
She was taken to hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a murder case against her mother-in-law, her husband and two brothers-in-law.
Investigating Officer Mushtaq Ahmed said victim`s mother Maqsood Bibi lodged a complaint against her daughter`s in-laws for allegedly strangling her.
He said according to the complaint the couple had sour relations.
