Dengue patients get bedside facilities

LAHORE: The Lahore General Hospital administration has provided dengue patients the facility of portable X-ray and ultrasound machines at their beds.

It was informed in a meeting on Saturday that the facility was provided in the wake of expected surge in the number of patients with dengue fever complications in the ongoingpeak season.

Headed by Postgraduate MedicalInstitute Principal Prof Dr Anjum Habib Vohra, the meeting wasalso attended by Prof Agha Shabbir Ali, MS Dr Pervez Imtiaz, Emergency Director Dr Munawar Ali, AMS Dr Munaza Kokab and othersenior doctors.

The senior medics suggested that the presence of doctors, nurses and paramedics should be ensured at the dengue counter established in emergency ward during Eidul Azha holidays.

They also expressed their concern over the rise in polio cases throughout the country and stressed upon health professionals as well as parents to play their role in dispensation of drops to kids.
