Modi convenes meeting on MFN status given to Pakistan

NEW DELHI: After reviewing the Indus Waters Treaty, India has now decided to review the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status given to Pakistan in the field of trade and business.

Indian Prime Minis-ter Narendra Modi will chair a review meeting on the matter on Thursday, according to sources.

Officials from the external affairs and commerce ministries would attend the meeting, the sources said.

They said the move fol-lowed the Modi government`s decision to look for options beyond diplomatic measures in the wake of the terrorist attack on an army camp in Uri.
