GWADAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested 11 people, including five Afghan nationals, as they attempted to illegally cross into Iran from the coastal area of Jiwani of Gwadar district.According to the FIA, a team of the Composite Circle Gwadar intercepted the suspects while they were trying to use the sea route to enter Iran without the required travel documents.

Of the arrested individuals, six belong to Punjab. Initial investigations revealed that the groupplanned to travel on from Iran to other countries.

Cases have been registered and investigations are under way, officials said.

The FIA said its crackdown on human smuggling and illegal border crossings continues, with all available resources being utilised.
