KOHAT: The number of dengue positive cases has risen to 16 in the last two days and the patients, including three women, have been admitted to the two special wards of KDA divisional headquarter hospital here.
Medical superintendent Dr Sameen Jan told Dawn that of these patients one Naeem Dad was referred to Islamabad as he was already suffering from cancer. He said that 14 affected people were from Lachi Bala and Lachi Payan, while one belonged to Garhi Risaldar in Kohat city.
The health department is holding workshops in Lachi tehsil to create awareness of the precautions against dengue.
Dr Jan said that all the patients were stable, but feared that dengue cases could rise because dengue larva was still present in Lachi area.
