THIS is with reference to Afzal A. Shigri`s article `Muharram security challenge` (Oct 24). The writer has drawn our attention to the key point that has always been a short-term priority, i.e. the implementation of improved procedures for management of processions.
The writer talks about the ` long-term plan`. I believe the real long-term plan should start at homes, classrooms and streets.Parents and teachers have to preach the importance of tolerance. For that utopian state to be a reality, religious and intellectual think tanks have to come forward and inculcate tolerance among the people.
