TOBA TEK SINGH: Police have arrested a landlord who rented his Pir Mahal house to a doctor who ran an illegal kidney transplant racket.
An FIA team from Lahore had raided the house on Oct 12 and arrested two doctors and five paramedics when they were transplanting a kidney donated by a Samundari-based woman to a Saudi national.
House owner Kaleem Adil Baloch had rented his house to clinic administrator Dr Shahid Rashid of Chak Kharak without informing police.
According to FIA, suspects involved in the case were not doctors or paramedics and had fake credentials and CNICs. Even their mobile phone SIMs were registered against other names. They had so far transplanted kidneys to 18 foreigners.
Meanwhile, kidney recipient Saudi who was initially moved to the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, has been shifted to a health facility in Islamabad. Correspondent
