QUETTA: Over 30 suspects were picked up on Thursday during a search operation conducted to arrest people involved in the killing of four polio workers in the city on Wednesday.

A police official said most suspects were taken into custody at Mohalla Khelabad,adding that arms and ammunition were also seized.

Police interrogated the driver of the health workers` van who had escaped when the vehicle came under fire.

IGP Balochistan Mohammad Amlish Khan suspended the acting DSP of Shalkot, Shafgat Ameer Junjua, and the SHO of New Sariab police station, Noor Bakhsh, for showing negligence in performing their duty.
