I HAVE never known Capt Muhammad Bilal Sunawar Shaheed or his family. I read about him and saw his picture on his fifth martyrdom anniversary in Dawn (Nov 20).
I was awestruck by his masculine personality that would turn many heads in a crowd a tall, handsome long face bearing sharp features, well-kept moustache perched over his lips, and the torso of an Olympian athlete.
Above all, a most decorated army uniform that he wore (in the picture) reiterated that he was born and made for the profession for which he laid down his life.
I can imagine the melancholy that must have pierced the heart of his father, Lt-ColChaudhry M. Sunawar and brothers and sisters, on the captain`s day of shahadat on Nov 20, 2009.
