LAHORE: The Lahore police have finalised a comprehensive security plan for 160 parliamentarians of Asian countries attending the 7th plenary session of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Lahore from Dec 1-4.

According to the plan, more than 3,000 policemen will cover Lahore airport, PC Hotel, Avari Hotel, Royal Palm Golf and Country Club, Fortress Stadium, The Mall of Lahore, Liberty Market, a restaurant on MM Alam Road, Hazori Bagh, Lahore Fort and Governor`s House for four days.

The security plan covers both patrolling and static duties of policemen, including elite commandos, rooftop duties with snipers, elite combatteams at venues and on roads with Plan A and B in cases of emergencies.

On Nov 30 andDec4,130footconstables, 25 upper-subordinates, three station house officers, two deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) and one SP will perform search and sweeping of the funnel area, foot patrolling, pickets, mobile and motorcycle patrolling at airports. Snipers with binoculars will also take positions on and around airport premises.

The delegates will travel on a bus protected by elite police escort vehicles and emergency cavalcade. Being state guests, the delegates will avail proper alternative routes schedule and zero trafhe during their journey with the help of traf fic police.

Up to 420 constables, 31 upper subordinate, 15 SHOs, five DSPs and anSP on different time occasions will perform deployment duties at all important buildings, bridges, underpasses and culverts with picketing on the route and rooftop duty on the routes.

Officials manning the routes will have no mobile phones, armed security guard of private companies will be removed while petrol pumps will be blocl
The places, where delegates will be staying or moving, will be heavily guarded by uniformed police, elite police and officials of Special Branch.

Two command and control center each headed by a DSP would be set up at two hotels during official and private businesses.
