KARACHI: Inspector General of Sindh Police A. D. Khowaja on Sunday announced a reward of Rs50,000 to rickshaw driver Khalid who foiled a robbery bid near Korangi Crossing.
“Due to his remarkable act of bravery three robbers have been arrested,” the provincial police chief added.
Korangi Industrial Area SHO Mohammed Nawaz Gondal told Dawn that a family was travelling in a rickshaw when three suspects riding a motorcycle snatched a purse from the woman.
However, the driver ran his rickshaw into the suspects’ motorcycle, knocking them down into the Malir river. His rickshaw also fell into the water causing minor injuries to one woman and the rickshaw driver. In the meantime, a police party arrived and arrested the three suspects.
