LAHORE: The Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) has made changes to its Central Land Records Management and Information System software so as to prevent delays in mutations and registration (registry) of land.
The changes, according to PLRA Director General Ikram Haq, were made after many cases involving mutations and registrations were delayed on the part of revenue officers and subregistrars in the form of not making timely de cisions, even after completing biometric verification and recording statements. This led to increase of pending cases and caused inconvenience to the general public.
With the new software updates, the revenue officers and sub-registrars will be required to make a decision on each case within three days after completing necessary verifications. This will ensure that mutations and registrations are processed without undue delay.
On the other hand, the Board of Revenue senior member Nabeel Javed presided over a meeting on the Annual Development Programme schemes for 2024-25. During the meeting, the SMBR reviewed the progress on land facilitation center projects across Punjab`s nine divisions. He was of the view that that these centers must ensure integrated facilities under one roof, includinglandtransferservices, banks, excise and taxation, ownership documents, and digital record management.
Additionally, projects related to AC houses in Chua Saidan Shah, Kot Addu, Shujaabad, Safdarabad, and Kallar Kahar were also discussed.
