Digital skills training course concludes in Bajaur

BAJAUR: An over two-month-long e-commerce and freelancing course concluded here on Friday, where the youth were imparted with digital skills to enable them to earn a respectable living.
The closing ceremony of the 66-day-long course arranged jointly by the district administration and youth affairs department was held at the district administration`s jirga hall in Civil Colony, Khar.
Elders, political activists, religious figures, trade leaders, youths and the participants of the course attended the concluding ceremony.
Deputy commissioner Shahid Ali Khan, additional deputy commissioner (F&P) Hamza Zahoor, Khar subdivision assistant commissioner Dr Sadiq Ali, district youth officer Fawad Ahmed and digital experts were also in attendance.
The organisers/instructors informed the participants that the training session was aimed at imparting digital skills to youth to land lucrative jobs.
The participants were told that over 1,000 candidates applied for the course offered free of cost.
However, only about 80 candidates were accommodated in the training session owing to the shortage of space andresources.
The participants, were, however informed that the remaining youth would be accommodated in the upcoming training courses, for which the registration ofcandidateshad already started.
The meeting was informed that Bajaur youth were taking keen interest in learning knowledge of e-commerce and freelancing and other digital skills.
On the occasion, deputy commissioner Shahid Ali Khan termed the successful completion of the training course a new milestone for the promotion of digital skills among local youth.
He lauded the organisers for arranging the training course, and expressed the hope the skilled youth would get respectable jobs in the market.
Mr Ali said such courses would also be offered in future.
