No` water crisis

2016-01-29
I WAS browsing through the newspapers on my laptop and it seems the good news is that there is no water crisis. The most that the newspapers do is to print a letter now and then; some don`t do even that. So, shall we assume that all is well and all this talk of a water crisis in five years time, a crisis that will make us forget the power crisis, is just so much hot air? Should we continue to keep using what we have and think it will last us till kingdom come and there is no need to `do more`, even though we are multiplying, and what is happening in Thar can never happentotherestofPakistan? The politicians are in a quandary. The pitch has been queered for them by some rabble rousers who have played politics with the Kalabagh dam issue. The media has its own way of following and presenting the news, but what is keeping the rest of us from making as much noise as we can in the newspapers, and on TV channels, which are only an e-mail away from us about an issue that spells life and death for this nation?
