VICE-chancellor of Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, Prof Fazlur Rahim Marwat announced the closure of the university after the deadly attack for an indefinite period.Thishas been done to carry out repair work and improve security. This does not seem to be a good idea because every academic year is important for students.
While repairs must be done and security has to be improved, breaking off studies for an `indefinite time` will discourage students and make them lose a full semester.
Disrupting education was one of the terrorists` main objectives behind the attack.

To checkmate this grave threat, educational institutions will need to deploy security personnel, install CCTV cameras, raise boundary walls and put up barbed wires. It is obligatory that the government ensure all institutions implement these security measures.
In essence, the enemy is attacking our youth with the objective of destroying our future. This is why the enemy is targeting education. We should join hands and vow to leave no stone unturned to curb terrorism.
