Two held for selling biometric SIMs

LAHORE: The FIA arrested on Thursday two persons for allegedly selling biometric active SIMs and using them for illegal activities.

A cyber crime team raided a house at Islampura and arrested Umer and Mukhtar and recovered 46 biometric active SIMs from them. `The suspects illegally issued SIMs by using different CNICs and cheated people.

A case has been registered against the accused.

The immigration officialsat the Lahore airport arrested Christian Ogugua, a Nigerian national, who was trying to leave the country on a fake Pakistani visa sticker.

Meanwhile, an FIA team detected electricity theft at Rind village in Sarai Alamgir.

It said Abdul Majeed, LM-1 of city sub-division, was involved in electricity thef t through dummy meter and was running chaki B-1 industrial connection with connected load of 17KW.

The raiding team recovered the dummy meter and actual meter from the possession of the LM. The accused caused a loss of millions of rupees to the exchequer.

Accused Abdul Majeed has been arrested and an FIR registered against him.

In another raid at Komoki, Aslam Chohan was found running an illegal travel agency and was involved in sending people abroad.

A copy of diploma of Punjab Technical Board, Umra pakage forms, a copy of Qatar visa, an employment visa of Oman and preevaulation form of admission were also recovered from the accused.
