Road project inaugurated in Shangla

SHANGLA: District council member Jamshed Khan inaugurated a project for construction of a link road in Katkor, Chakesar tehsil, on Thursday. The Rs4 million project, funded by the district council, will connect Katkor with seven villages.
Mr Khan said on the occasion that the project would be completed within three months. He said that it would facilitate over 5,000 people of the villages who had been facing difficulties while taking their patients to hospitals on shoulders.
Fazal Raziq, a local elder, thanked the PML-N-led district government for starting the project.
SNOWFALL: After a day`s break snowfall anddownpour started in Shangla on Saturday, while a child died when a wall of a house collapsed in Peza area of Dehrai.
The snowfall, which started in the morning in uppers parts, including Yakhtangy, Speen Ghar, Gamtal, Ajmeer and other areas, and rain in Bisham city, Chakesar, Puran, Karora and Shahpur continued till late in the night.
The people faced difficulties as power supply to Bisham city remained suspended.
Dehrai police told this scribe that a child was killed in Peza area when the wall of his house collapsed due to heavy snowfall. Correspondent
