STRAY DOGS: The increasing number of stray dogs in Karachi poses a significant threat to public health and safety.
Numerous incidents of dog bites, particularly affecting children and the elderly, have been reported in various city areas.
These attacks can cause severeinjuries and even fatalities. Another danger is the spread of rabies. Besides, the presence of these animals can create a sense of fear and anxiety among the people, especially women and children. The lack of effective measures to control the stray dog population is problematic. The Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) needs to come up with a comprehensive strategy to address theissue.
Talha Asif` Karachi STATIONERY STORE: I recently visited the Jungle Bagh campus of the University of Balochistan (UoB) to obtain my MA English degree with all the required documents. Unfortunately, a single photocopied page was missing.
The staff refused to assist me, and I had to walk for about 30 minutes to the nearest stationery store to get a photocopy done.
This made me think about the struggles of students in such scenarios. The university administrations should set up a government-authorised stationery store on their respective campuses. This would not only facilitate the students, but also generate revenue for the universities.
Sanaullah Kakar Quetta INCOMPLETE WARNING: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recently warned the public to avoid fraud and forgery attempts, especially while dealing with unregistered housing schemes, and to avoid sharing personal data with strangers. In fact, such `warnings` were earlier issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) as well, cautioning public about similar incidents. However, neither the NAB nor the SBP has ever published details ofthe person tobe contacted when needed. The authorities concerned should publish relevant contact information while issuing any kind of warning to the public.
