BAJAUR: A private flour mills was partially damaged when it caught fire due to electric short-circuit in Bajaur district on Tuesday.
A Rescue 1122 statement said that soon after receiving information about eruption of fire in the flour mills located at Adil Chowk in Khar, a team of firefighters along with fire tenders was sent to the facility.
It said firefighters controlled the blaze after about an hour. No one was hurt in the mishap.
Meanwhile, a fire gutted dumps of dry reed in Zangikhel area of Lakki Marwat district on Tuesday.
Rescue 1122 firefighters were engaged in cooling activity.
The cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained. Reed plants are the main source of livelihood for rural population in the district.
After harvest, villagers dump reeds outside their houses, from which they make chaks, mats and other items that are sold in different parts of the country.
Also, firefighters on Tuesday extinguished a huge fire that engulfed a mountainous area in Kahchai town of Kohat.
Rescue 1122 Kohat spokesman Jawad Afridi said that they rushed the fire vehicles to the spot, astride the Orakzai district, soon after receiving emergency call from the control room.
The firefighters started efforts to extinguish the blaze and stopped it from spreading.
He said that the reason behind the blaze could not be known.
