I WOULD like to direct the authorities` attention to a mafia creating problems for citizens who visit the Islamabad ETO office.
I visited this office a month ago and the area was swarming with agents asking for money to facitlitate the immediate transfer of your vehicle. In fact, if you pay Rs5,000 extra, you don`t need to go to the ETO office and your vehicle is registered.
If you try to be a responsible citizen, you not only have to wait for hours in multiple queues at different windows but face the staff`s rude behaviour. Furthermore the process takes a month as that is when the registration book is given to the vehicle owner.
The ETO office should learn from the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) new driving licence issuance process, which serves citizens in a dignified manner. Our citizens must be respected and facilitated as the money from their taxes fills the treasury.
