Arms licences

2016-02-29
IT has been almost a year and a half that manual arms licences were computerised in Sindh. I reside in Lahore and had to travel toKarachi to apply for one as it was issued by the deputy commissioner, central, Karachi.

To this day, no news of its progress or any feedback has been received individually or through newspapers. As responsible citizens we did our civic duty.

With the coming years, the licences will be due for renewal. One is at a loss as to what is to be done. How long will the government continue to take its citizens for a ride? Is there no accountability? I have three licences, one from Sindh and the other two from Balochistan. I had been getting it renewed from the nearby post office in Lahore where I am residing for the last 13 years.

On my visit to the post office this year for their renewal, I was told to get it computerised from Nadra. I visited Nadra and was told that it is only for Punjab.

The post office refuses to renew it. They say they even do not have postal stamps for it.

Can`t it be registered with Nadra at one`s place of residence? Why can`t the government provide convenience to its citizens? The interior ministry must look into the matter and resolve this issue.
