Sindhi poetry book launched

LARKANA: A bool< of Sindhi poetry penned by Ayaz Jani was launched here on Sunday evening by the literary committee of the Arts Council of Larkana.
The launch of the book titled Darwar dil jee tanhaee was presided over by Shah Abdul Latif University Professor and prominent poet Ayaz Gul.
Guests of honour on the occasion were arts councilpresident and Larkana Commissioner Akbar Leghari, television playwright and Sindhi short-story writer Alchlaque Ansari, columnist Rakhyal Morai and poet Amar Pirzado.
Appreciating the poetic work, Ayaz Gul said he (Ayaz Jani) was a very conscientious poet whose poetry had a large canvas and it covered a variety of issues which were directly related to human life and feelings. He said his poetry fitted in the framework ofrules which were essential for any good poetic work and that it renected the modern trends and changing society as well.
Akbar Leghari said the poetry of Ayaz Jani presented the picture of society.
Akhlaque Ansari said there was depth of thought in the poetry of Ayaz Jani.
Rakhyal Morai said the book would occupy a very important place in the realm of Sindhi poetry.
Poet Ayaz Jani said his poetry was a creativeexpression of his personal experiences, sorrows, deprivations and social interaction and its influences on his personality.
`I have also painted feelings and problems of my people in my poetry,` he said.
Amar Pirzado said the poetry of Ayaz Jani was a symbolic expression of sorrows which were common.
Ahsan Danish said the poetry book was like a conglomeration of various feelings and behaviours which represented patriotism,love for humanity, nationalism and romance.
Others who also spoke on the occasion included comrade Hussain Bakhsh Narejo, Fayaz Latif, Prof Sikandar Abbasi, Asad Manganhar, Rafique Siyal, Mumtaz Lohar, Mansoor Ali and Mansoor Ali.
The launch was followed by a mushaira in which prominent Sindhi poets recited their poetry.
The programme was concluded with the performance of singer Sheeraz Abbasi.
