NAROWAL: District and Sessions Judge Syed Ali Imran on Tuesday handed down death sentence along with fine to a man who had killed a youth over a trifle.

In July 2021, there was a dispute between Najaf Ali aka Shehanshah and Usman Ali, a resident of Abbas Nagar. Najaf Ali shot Usman Ali dead over some indiscreet remark. On the complaint of widow Parveen Bibi, the mother of Usman Ali, City Narowal police registered a case against Najaf Ali.

The police arrested the suspect and submitted the challan to the court. Judge Syed Ali Imran completed the trial and handed down death penalty to Najaf Ali.

The court also ordered him to pay Rs500,000 to the family of the deceased as compensation. In case of nonpayment of compensation to the victim`s family, the convict will have to undergo six-month additional imprisonment. Correspondent
