NAROWAL: Bridge on Durman Link Road, which had collapsed around two months back, could not be repaired, causing a great deal of inconvenience to residents of two dozen villages.

A big crack had occurred on the link road from Durman town of Zafarwal tehsil to Sakurur.

The situation has severely impacted the residents of over two dozen adjacent villages along the working boundary. Among these villages are Pirflyi, Mallakot, Chakmatla, Skurur, and others, which are facing transportation challenges.

Muhammad Nazir and Sakhawat Ali, residents of Chak Matla, said the bridge over the rain canal had broken in the middle. While motorcycles and rickshaws can still use the bridge, loaded vans, trucks, and vehiclestransporting daily necessities to the villages are unable to pass.

Despite several requests to the Zafarwal tehsil administration and the Narowal deputy commissioner for urgent bridge repair, no action has been taken.

The residents express frustration over the lack of attention from the Narowal district administration in addressing the issue.

Ayesha Parveen and Naseem Akhtar, students from Sakurur village, said earlier they used to go to college on the van. Now they have been travelling by a three-wheeler which causes a lot of difficult.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza was contacted to get his point of view on the issue but no response was received.

Locals have demanded that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz take notice of the situation and get the bridge repaired at the earliest.
