Kiln owner, others booked for illegal detention

KASUR: Phoolnagar police on Tuesday registered a case against a brick kiln owner and his five accomplices over charges of detention and forced labour.

Earlier, a Lahore High Court bailiff had rescued labourers from the kiln but the owner again kidnapped them.

According to complainant Muhammad Yousaf, kiln owner Shahbaz and his menforcedhimandhisfamily to stay on kiln premises.

He said his wife Sakina Bibi managed to move away and approached the court. A court bailiff recovered Yousaf and his children from the kiln.

The ordeal of Yousaf did not end here. He along with his family was on his way to Vehari by a van when the kiln owner and his men stopped the vehicle near Jamber on Multan Road and took them to the kiln.

The workers somehow managed to move away onMonday and contacted the police on Tuesday.

Saddar Phoolnagar police have registered a case and are raiding to arrest the suspects.

RANSACKED: Five men allegedly ransacked a Nadra office and thrashed the officials over a trifle on Tuesday at Phoolnagar.

According to branch manager Muhammad Ishtiaq, Rana Jehangir of Lmabay Jageer visited the Bhai Pheru Nadra ofñce and sought a token. The duty official told him that he would get token after break time. Ishtiaq said later Jahangir along with his four accomplices ransacked the ofñce and beat up the staff.

Phoolnagar police have registered a case and are looking into the matter.

DROWNS: A five-yearold boy drowned in a tubewell here on Tuesday at Mamun Village.

Sharifan Bibi was washing clothes at the tubewell when her son Sañan drowned while taking a bath.
