I LIVE in the US and was in Karachi for two months for the sole purpose of getting a succession certificate for my mother`s account at the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).
The case has been with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for over a month and we have still not received the cheque.
I have been trying to get access to my mother`s account for the last four months.
My mother, who lived abroad, passed away severalyears ago.She had an account at the NBP for which I obtained a succession certificate in November 2016.
This certificate along with all necessary documents was hand-delivered to the head office in Karachi. It has been over four months now and in spite of a court order I have still not received the monies.
I have contacted the bank several times but to no avail. The case has been with the SBP for over a month now and I am still waiting for them to issue the cheque. These last few months have been extremely frustrating for us.
