Covid-19 claims 11 more lives in Punjab

LAHORE: The Covid-19 claimed lives of 11 more people across Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Of them, six died in Lahore, while five others in Multan where the disease’s toll reached 46 and 11, respectively.
Meanwhile, 204 more suspected patients tested positive for the virus during the same period in Punjab, taking the tally to 5,730.
The provincial capital alone rerported 147 new confirmed cases, raising the total number of those afflicted with the coronavirus in the city to 1,408.
According to the official figures released on Tuesday, except two confirmed cases, all others were reported from non-quarantine centres, showing the common citizens were mostly being infected.
However, no new case was reported from the quarantine centres housing pilgrims returning from Iran, while those established for Tableeghi Jamaat members reported only two more confirmed cases.
So far 1,183 suspected patients tested positive for the virus were discharged from various healthcare facilities of Punjab after complete recovery. Total 22 confirmed patients of Covid-19 were in serious condition, according to the Punjab health department.—Staff Reporter
