ISLAMABAD: The Council of Common Interests (CCI) strongly condemned the unilateral, illegal and irresponsible steps of India after the Pahalgam incident.

A communique issued after the meeting stated that Pakistan was a peaceful and responsible country, but knew fully how to defend itself.

The CCI also fully welcomed the Senate resolution against India`s illegal and irresponsible steps.

`Pakistan has the right to protect its water interests in view of the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty and stoppage of its water,` the council noted.-APP
