LAHORE, May 28: Continuing his tirade against the PPP government, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif says the incumbent rulers are incompetent and lack understanding about how to run the country.
Speaking at a ceremony held here on Monday by the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust to mark the nuclear tests the country conducted in 1998 the same day, he said the rulers did not know how to manage state affairs.
He regretted that the incumbent government in its four-year rule took more loans than what were taken in the previous 60 years.
He said poverty, unemployment and load-shedding had surged up during this time and that besides Musharraf the present rulers were also responsible for the situation.
The former prime minister lamented that none in the government was concerned about Balochistan and the ongoing bloodletting in Karachi.
He alleged that the government was involved in corruption from head to tow as the Supreme Court was holding inquiries against the ministers involved in corruption.
He said the situation had reached to the extent that Hujjaj were also being fleeced and when the apex court took note of the situation, they (the rulers) refused to abide by its ruling.
RALLIES: The PML-N staged rallies and held cake-cutting ceremonies in various parts of the provincial metropolis to mark the 14th anniversary of nuclear tests.
The main event was organised at Regal Chowk which was attended by Lahore chapter president Pervaiz Malik, secretary-general Imran Nazir and a number of MPs and party activists.
