LAHORE: The security of key family members of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was enhanced on Wednesday after fresh suicide attack threats.
A senior police official said there were intelligence reports of attack on VVIPs, including some key members of the Sharifs family, in the provincial capital, adding that reports suggested the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan had recently dispatched suicide bombers for high profile figures.
He said intelligence agencies and police thwarted a similar attempt on VVIPs and busted Taliban and banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi networks last month.
