TAXILA: Two more persons drowned in different incidents in Attock, while they were swimming on Thursday.

According to sources in Rescue 1122, 18-year-old Rehmat Deen drowned in Indus River near Attock Khurd while 36-year-old Fida Ali drowned in Hazro River near Sanjwal.

Both bodies were recovered by divers of the rescue service and handed over to their heirs for burial.

According to District Emergency Officer Dr Ishfaq Mian, the death toll due to drowning, rose to seven in the district during the last three days, including two teenage brothers and two minors; even though the district administration had imposed a ban on bathing or swimming in water spots and rivers.
