KHYBER: A policeman, who was critically injured in a militant attack in Tirah four days ago, died in a hospital on Sunday.

Sources in Bara said that Tayyab Afridi was among the three policemen, who were injured in a militant attack on a polio vaccination team in Mir Darra locality of Tirah valley on May 25. He along with the other injured cops was shifted to hospital in Peshawar, where he succumbed to his injuries.

He belonged to Malakdinkhel tribe of Bara.

Meanwhile, a minor Afghan girl was killed and nine others, including a woman and children, were injured when the roof of a house collapsed in Gagra locality of Landi Kotal on Sunday.

Rescue 1122 officials retrieved the deceased and the injured from under the rubble of the collapsed house and later shifted the injured to a hospital, where condition of three was stated to be critical. They were later referred to a Peshawar hospital.

Naveed Alam, an official of the district administration, said that a tent and other relief items were immediately provided to the affected family. The administration also arranged for the medical treatment of the injured, he added.

Meanwhile, the police arrested at least 15 Afghans for not possessing legal travel documents at Torkham. All the arrested Afghans were booked under the Foreigners Act and sent to local sub-jail. Correspondent
