MUZAFFARABAD:The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Friday made transfers and postings ofseveraldistrict and divisionallevelpolice ofñcers in a major reshuffle in the police department.

According to a notification, Deputy Inspector General Police (DIG) headquarters (HQ) Tahir Mahmood Qureshi was transferred and posted as DIG police special branch/ security in place of Mohammad Yasin Qureshi who was transferred and posted as DIG Poonch region.

DIG police traffic Dr Liaquat Ali was transferred and posted as director investigation in AJK Ehtesab Bureau in place of Rashid Naeem Khan, who was transferred and posted as DIG police HQ on current charge basis.

DIG police Poonch region Sajjad Hussain was transferred and posted as DIG police traffic in place of Mr Ali.

He would however relinquish his charge on July 11, on the return of Mr Qureshi from abroad.

Among the district level police officers, SSP Mirpur Riaz Haider Bukhari was transferred and posted as SSP Reserve in Muzaffarabad. He was replaced by SP Kotli Irfan Saleem while SSP Muzaffarabad Raja Mohammad Akmal was transferred and posted as SP Kotli.

SSP Poonch Chaudhry Amin was transferred and posted as director anti-corruption department in place of Mohammad Yasin Baig who was transferred and posted as SSP Muzaffarabad.

Chaudhry Zulgarnain Sarfraz, who was attached with the Central Police Office (CPO), was transferred and posted as SP Poonch.

SP Haveli Mohammad Asif Durrani was transferred and posted as SP Neelum. He was replaced in Haveli by current charge SP Special Branch Mirza Shoukat Hayat.

Sultan Awan, current charge SP/AIGP General/ Security, was transferred and posted as SP Bhimber in place of Mirza Zahid Hussain, who was transferred and posted as SP Special Branch in Muzaffarabad.

Azhar Iqbal, current charge SP attached with the CPO, was transferred and posted as additional SP Mirpur.

DSP (HQ) Bagh Muhammad Saleem Durrani was transferred and posted as additional SP Muzaffarabad on current charge basis.

DSP (HQ) Kotli Maqsood Ahmed Khan was transferred and posted as deputy director investigation in AJK Ehtesab Bureau.

SP Reserve Mir Muhammad Abid was transferred and posted as SP/AIGP General/ Security in CPO in place of Mr Awan.
