Saving the proxy is clear sign of defeat

SOMEONE has rightly said that in a dog fight, when the owner of the dog jumps in the arena, it means that his dog is losing, and is going to be fatally injured without the intervention. It makes sense because the logic is air-tight.
The saying came to my mind when the United States entered the war between Iran and Israel, by attacking and damaging Iran`s nuclear sites with its bunker-buster bombs. The US target was not Iran; it was the protection of its proxy in the Middle East region.
Israel has mostly kept the war outside its borders, fighting with weak powers while enjoying blanket American backing.
But with Iran, the Zionist state tasted thereal pungency of war, with air raid sirens blaring, people running for life to hide, bunkers running out of space, Iranian missiles hissing over people`s heads, and falling and blasting with deafening impact mixed with the voices of crying children and wailing women.
I have heard Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in tears, shamelessly complaining, while visiting the damaged hospital site, saying `Iran is attacking our hospitals, damaging our houses and killing women and children`. In that moment, he completely forgot that he had been doing a lot more than that for much longer in Gaza without any remorse.
It is now the duty of global powers to oversee that the ceasefire is religiously maintained between Iran and Israel, and to ensure that the atrocities in Gaza are also immediately stopped.
United Nations, which has practically become a totally redundant entity, should now seriously consider packing up and letting the veto-power countries hold the stage and run the show from the front.
