GUJAR KHAN: A woman and her acquaintance were allegedly gunned down by her husband for ‘honour’ in Daultala town of Gujar Khan tehsil, within the limits of Jatli police station, police sources said.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police and confessed to the killings.

According to ASP Gujar Khan, Syed Danial Hassan, the suspect visited Jatli police station on Saturday morning, surrendered his pistol and revealed that he had killed his wife and her alleged acquaintance for maintaining an extramarital relationship.

ASP Danial said the suspect told police that he had shot the victim using the latter’s own pistol at his house on Wednesday night, while his wife allegedly assisted him in dumping the body in a local graveyard.

He added that the suspect later moved his family, including his wife, to a relative’s house in Islamabad, and then returned to Daultala with her the next day.

On Friday night, he shot her with his personal pistol and left her body on the rooftop of his house.

ASP Danial said the suspect presented himself for arrest and took police to the locations where he had dumped the bodies of both victims. He added that the suspect claimed he had warned both individuals multiple times to end their relationship, but they continued it.

The police officer said the bodies of both victims were recovered and shifted to THQ Hospital in Gujar Khan for postmortem examination.

A murder case was being registered on behalf of the police, as no response was received from the victims’ heirs, who reside in Peshawar.
