PROTEST: Residents of Torghar on Monday staged a rally demanding the immediate completion of thelong-delayedTorkundoJudah Road project.

`The previous Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had launched this vital project with an allocation of Rs750 million, but it remains incomplete to this day,` Abdul Qadar Basikhel, chairman of the action committee, told the protest rally.

The rally, which started from Gaway Bazaar in the Kunder Hassanzai area and passed through various roads, culminated at the same point.

The protesters chanted slogans in support of their demands and against the government`s inaction.

`This road connects Kundar Hassanzai tehsil with Judbah, the district headquarters of Torghar, yet it hasn`t been completed even after five years. The local population continues to suffer, Mr Basikhel added.

He said a man had also lost his life in a landslide on this incomplete road, stressing that the government must act urgently to protect citizens` lives.

`If the government does not resume and complete this vital project immediately, we will widen our protest and block the Judbah-Thakot Road,` he warned.
