Sindh govt priorities

2017-09-29
T HIS is apropos the news reports that the Sindh cabinet has approved widening/ upgradation projects for some important roads in Karachi.

Before starting these projects, will it not be more prudent to repair and carpet the roads badly af fected by the recent rains? Some of these roads are in such bad shape that it has become almost impossible to use them. I live in the Garden West area, where some important hospitals are located, and patients from Sindh`s interior visit these hospitals.

The road from the Zoological Garden to M.A Jinnah Road, where these hospitals and the police headquarters are located, is in such bad shape that patients in ambulances suf fer severe jerks and discomfort. This road is in urgent need of repair.

It would be better if the Sindh government took up the repair of the roads battered by the recent rains before launching new road widening projects.
