BEING a Lahor. I fully understand the importance of a canal flowing through the middle of the city. It`s not only an escape from heat during summer, it is literally the lung of the metropolis filtering the pollution and providing us with the life-sustaining oxygen.
It is, however, saddening to observe that the trees lining both sides of the canal having fallen victim to a mysterious disease and every third or fourth tree is either dying or has long since dried up.
The situation demands immediate attention of the relevant authorities.
