KARAK, Oct 28: The disgruntled leader of Pakistan People`s Party (PPP), Naheed Khan, has criticised the party leadership for not arresting the killers of Benazir Bhutto despite remaining in power for five years after her assassination.

Addressing PPP workers in Khuramm Muhammadzai area here the other day, she said that the assassination of Benazir Bhutto was a political murder.

The party leadership failed to make any serious effort during its five-year stint in the government to arrest the killers of Benazir Bhutto, she alleged.

`Islam is the religion of peace and tranquillity but today in our country innocent people are being killed in the name of Islam,` said Ms Khan, who remained political secretary and a close aide of former prime minister and PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

She said that green passport had become unreliable in the world as a result of failure of the foreign policy of the country. She also came down hard on the incumbent government for increasing prices of various items of daily use.

The poor segments of the society were forced to commit suicides, she added.

The PPP disgruntled leader said that 70 per cent people were living below the line of poverty. -Correspondent
