Third ballot for Apna Rozgar scheme held

LAHORE: The third reserve balloting for Apna Rozgar Scheme was held at a ceremony at 90 Shahra-iQuaid-i-Azam with Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha in the chair.

Apna Rozgar will provide 50,000 vehicles (25,000 Suzuki Bolan and as many Ravi) to successful applicants. The repayment is to be done in 60 monthly installments at zero per cent markup rate while the Punjab government will subsidise 100pc marl
The balloting was conducted to create a reserve pool for Elling vacancies created due to DVC (District Verification Committees) rejections, voluntary withdrawals and non-compliance of terms and conditions by applicants of ear-lier ballots.

The delivery of vehicles was started from March 20, 2015 and the BoP completed deliveries of 35,000 vehicles to date.

The computerised balloting was conducted in presence of media under supervision of committee constituted by the government. The elected parliamentarians, government officials, BoP senior executives, and members from media and civil society were also present on the occasion.

Announcing the names of winners, the finance minister said most of the youth winning this balloting belonged to south Punjab.

She said women had also been given equal representation to men in the scheme.

BoP Group Head Taimur Afzal said 99pc recovery to the bank showed success of the scheme.
