Robbers shoot man to death over resistance

KARACHl: A man was shot dead by armed robbers over resistance near Northern Bypass on Friday morning, police said.

The SITE-Superhighway police said Moosa Khan, 42, had come from Balochistan. As he got off from a vehicle and was on his way, armed motorcyclists intercepted him and tried to snatch cash and other valuables. However, he put up resistance, upon which the robbers opened fire on him and fled without any loot.

He suffered critical bullet wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Suspect killed by citizen A suspected robber was shot dead by a citizen in Shah Latif Town on Friday.

Police said the suspect, identified as Ghulam Shah, was killed by the robbery victim near the Sheedi Goth graveyard off National Highway.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a post-mortem examination.

Woman shot dead A 35-year-old woman was shot dead allegedly by her brother over a matrimonial dispute in Ittehad Town on Friday.

Police said Nagina Shakeel was killed inside her home near Firdous Masjid.

Ittehad Town SHO Ghulam Rasool Arbab said the victim had recently arranged the engagement ceremony of her daughter.

Her brother came from Peshawar after hearing the news of the engagement of her maternal niece. He killed his sister and fled, he added.

The body was taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi to fulfil medico-legal formalities.
