Castro: a true leader

2016-11-29
FIDEL Castro, an icon and a revolutionary leader is no more. He is the only leader of a small Third World country who stood up against a world power, America. The mighty US tried its best to dictate to this small island but Castro proved too much for them.

Dictator or not, with his total commitment to socialism, he made Cuba a model to be followed, giving his people a standard of health and education that could be compared to that in the West.

No wonder the Cuban people and millions more all over the world mourn him as the greatest leader of all time. As the `Commandante` said: `condemn me. It doesnot matter. History will absolve me.

History has absolved him.

S.BABAR Karachi (2) THIS is to pay tribute to Fidel Castro and to remind the world in general and Pakistanis in particular what a great leader he was. He served his people selflessly for more than 55 years.

Never in these long years did he give in to temptation and, instead, always strived for the betterment of his people. A selfless leader, he resisted capitalism all his life.

Under his command, the people of Cuba opted to remain poor rather than yield to the superpower in their front.

Although a tiny country, the Cuba led by Fidel Castro always looked the US in the eye and lived with dignity and honour. Cuba could not have accomplished this feat sans the bravery of its leader. He offered help to Pakistan and was eager to stand along Pakistan`s side during the devastating October2005earthquake.IprayPakistan gets leaders lil
