LAHORE: The Lahore High Court sought replies on Tuesday from federal/ provincial higher education commissions and the Kinnaird College (KC) principal about the termination of a lecturer allegedly in violation of laws.

KCWU lecturer Quratulain Ayesha filed a petition pleading that her services had been terminated without assigning any reason and allegation.

The petitioner submitted she had been serving at the college as lecturer since 2008 on a contractual basis.

She said till date of her removal from service, nocomplaint ever had been made against her pertaining to conduct or work, instead her work was always admired by the high-ups.

The petitioner stated the principal issued her termination order without the approvalof the Board of Governors, as required under the law. Therefore, she said the termination was without lawful authority and had no legal effect.

The petitioner asked the court to set aside the termination and order the respondent to reinstate her.

Justice Sajid Mahmood Sethi admitted the petition for regular hearing and sought replies from the respondents within two weeks.
