CHRISTCHURCH: Durham wicket-keeper Ollie Robinson was on Thursday added to England`s Test squad in New Zealand to replace the injured Jordan Cox.
It is a first call-up for the 25-year-old. He has the same name as Sussex fast bowler Ollie Robinson, who has 20 caps for England but was not selected in the tour squad.
Durham `keeper Robinson has been in stellar form in the County Championship, averaging 48 with the bat this season while having a hand in 92 dismissals behind the stumps in the past two years.
He is expected to join the squad on Saturday.
Cox fractured his right thumb during a net session last week ruling him out of the three-Test series. First-choice wicket-keeper Jamie Smith is on paternity leave and will play no part in the series. Ollie Pope is keeping the wickets in the ongoing first Test.-AFP
