Road accidents claim seven lives

HA RIPUR: Seven persons were killed and five injured in separate road accidents in different towns of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said on Saturday.
Two motorcyclists were killed when a car struck them in Khanpur tehsil of Haripur.
Police said the van on way to Haripur from Taxila hit the motorcycle after hitting another car coming from the opposite direction near Tofkiyan basic health unit.
Two motorcyclists identified as Yasir and Fahad died on the spot, while drivers of both the cars identified as Waqas and Rashid sustained injuries.
The rescue workers shifted the bodies and the injured to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Khanpur.
A speeding dumper hit a motorbike killing Abdul Mohiz of Kamal Pur village on the spot and injuring his younger brother, Ahsan, in Tarnawa village of Khanpur. The injured was shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital and later to Haripur Trauma Centre, police and hospital sources said.
In Mansehra, two youngsters were killed when the motorcycle they were riding on rammed into a roadside wall on the Hazara Expressway in Ichrian area on Saturday.
The youngsters, Mohammad Ali and Majid Ali, were on way to Bajna area from Shinkiari. They were shif ted to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in critical condition, where doctors pronounced them dead.
In Swabi, a car hit a minor girl when she was crossing the Swabi-Mardan Road. She died on the spot. She hailed from Danbdoka village.
In the second incident, a man was killed and two others were injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car near Shewa Bridge. Asif Ali died on the spot and his two companions, Hamza Khan and Adnan Khan, were seriously injured and taken to Kalu Khan civil hospital.
The Kalu Khan police registered two different FIRs against unknown drivers and started investigations.
