CHITRAL: After a lull of two weeks, the Chitral Valley again started receiving snowfall throughout its length from Lowari in the south to Broghil in the extreme north on Wednesday.
The only road connecting Chitral with rest of the country via the Lowari Pass is, however, opened for vehicular traffic.
Broghil Valley was disconnected last month, while Laspur, Rech, Terich and Oveer valleys in Upper Chitral and Arkari, Madak Lasht and Bumburst in Lower Chitral are already cut off from rest of the district.
Life came to standstill in Chitral city as people confined themselves to their homes due to the intense cold.
Lower Chitral district police officer Iftikhar Shah told Dawn that a contingent of police had been deputed at the Lowari tunnel approach road to provide help to motorists to make it to the tunnel. — Correspondent
