Man killed to avenge youth`s murder

NAROWAL: After a young man was shot dead over a fight among children on Wednesday, a group of the victim`s relatives tortured one of the suspects to death in an act of revenge after kidnapping him from his house at Chakra village in Zafarwal tehsil.

As per police and local sources, a group of children had a quarrel in a village playground, following which three suspects -Ali Raza Shah, Wahi Shah and Qadir Shah -allegedly opened fire on a youth, Ahsan, leaving him dead on the spot.

To avenge the murder, a group comprising more than 20 men, including relatives of the victim, kidnapped one of the suspects, Ali Raza, and took him to house, where they tortured him with clubs and axes. Ali succumbed to the brutaltorture, the sources said.

Shah Gharib police registered an FIR on the complaint of Mudassar Ali, brother of deceased Ahsan, against the three suspects, Ali Raza, Wahi and Qadir, under Section 302/34 ofthePPC.

Later, a counter FIR was registered against 25 suspects, including Asif, Farooq, Mubashar, Mudassar, Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Arshad, Ali, Samiullah, Taib, Mohsin and 12 unidentified men and women, over the murder of Ali Raza.

The police took both dead bodies in custody and shifted them to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Shakargarh, for the postmortem examination and necessary legal action.

The police also col-lected forensic evidences from both crime scenes and recorded statements of witnesses.

A spokesman for the district police said that DPO Mohammad Naveed Malik has constituted teams led by Shakargarh DSP for investigation and arrest of fleeing suspects.

MINOR GIRL RAPED: A minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on Wednesday by a youth at a local shrine, after she got separated from her mother and grandfatherin the rush of devotees.

Tariq Javed, a resident of New Abadi Town in Badomalai tehsil, said in his complaint to police that he, along with his four-year-old granddaughter and daughterin-law Tehmina went to pay a visit to Darbar Mir Zaman, a local shrine, where free food (langar) was being distributed among the devotees.

He said that in the rush, his granddaughter went suddenly missing and his daughter-in-law started searchingforher.

He said that during the frantic search, they heard cries of the minor girl from a washroom at the shrine.

The complainant said that as he entered the washroom he saw a youth, later identified as `M`, subjecting the minor to sexual assault.

On seeing him the suspect fled the scene, while the minor girl was immediately shifted to the district headquarters hospital for treatment and medical examination.

Acting on the complaint, Baddomalhi police registered an FIR against the suspect under section 376-iii of the PPC, claiming to have arrested him later.
