Case against BHU doctor for rape attempt

GUJRANWALA: Kasoki police registered a case on Wednesday against a doctor of the Lawere Kalan Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Hafizabad for allegedly attempting to rape a lady health visitor (LHV).
The suspect allegedly called the LHV to his room and attempted to assault her. However, she saved herself by raising an alarm, prompting other staff members to intervene.
She reported the incidentto the health authority, which conducted an internal inquiry and found the doctor guilty.
Despite the findings, no departmental action has been taken against the doctor so far.
Meanwhile, when the alleged rape survivor requested a transfer to another health centre, instead of approving it, she was repeatedly sum-moned to the office and harassed into withdrawing the case.
ACE: The AntiC o r r u p t i o n Establishment (ACE) registered a case on Wednesday against 15 suspects, including three bank officials, for allegedly obtaining a loan of over Rs100 million by pledging fake jewellery.
One suspect has been arrested so far.
According to reports, Zakaullah, in collusion with the loan officer of the bank and a jeweller, allegedly placed fake jewellery as collateral to secure a loan of over Rs108 million. When the bank administration discovered the fraud, they reported the matter to the ACE for further action.
During the inquiry, the jewellery was tested and the test report revealed the scam.
A case was registered against 15 people, including three bank employees.
